Origins of hypnotic interest

No, this is not about the history of hypnosis. It's surely another interesting topic, but why don't we discuss about the origins of our personal hypnosis interest? Or how you found out it's something you enjoy.

You must have heard being said that when you read, are immersed in a movie, listen music, or do something else that captures your concentration so profoundly that the outer world fades away you are in fact being hypnotized.

The first hypnotic trance experience I can remember, was in early 90s when I was lying on bed listening black metal. The piece was repetitive, what most people would reconsider super boring shit. But it took me somewhere. When I woke up, I couldn't say if I had been off the radar just for the few minutes it lasted, or had full 8 hours of deep sleep. The relaxing effect was awesome. But It didn't caught my interest back then.

Later when the mist of erotic hypnosis surrounded me, fogged my mind and the tentacles of submission dragged me again deep into the abyss...I realized it was the same feeling and place I had experienced earlier.

So, what like was your first touch with hypnosis? I'd be interested to hear how you got involved, and whether it was live experience, vanilla, therapy or self-hypnosis.

The exact details of it all are kind of fuzzy because it's been a long time but I found myself drawn to it at an early age by watching old movies and cartoons. Drawn to the idea of it at least because I was always very reluctant to try it out for real for two reasons: one, I was somewhat ashamed of some of my fantasies; two, I was afraid of my being too suggestible due to my overactive imagination. I only opened myself to it after coming back to Inraptured.

The interest started early for me with media I grew up with. Saturday morning cartoons and beings with hypnotic powers, the occasional live-action examples on TV shows or in movies, realistic or not. The interest remained, but felt validated once I found traces of it online, as early as the mid-to-late 90's version of Inraptured, back then called Enraptured. The caption stories there plus discovering MCstories and the smaller femdom subsection then was enough to have me hooked. Once I found a community who was also into it and creating original, elaborate content that exceeded the hopes of what I'd find in mainstream media, I was kind of done for, in a very good way.

My First interest in FemDom hypnosis was the early 80's comics. Marvel's Amora (Enchantress) and back issues of Vampirella, and Satana, and later Neil Gaiman's definitive DC's Poison Ivy.
At this same time, published stories of one of the first "hypno-dommes" Goddess Marquessa appeared in magazines like New Reality.
Mid to late 80's brought AOL and (MIRC) with the first chat rooms dedicated to FemDom, and occasionally Hypno FemDom. Mistress Joanne from Cleveland was there who would write on the fly very long Hypno-poetry sessions that were very dreamy. At that point Goddess Marquessa , Soforia, and Mistress Joanne were all offering FemDom Hypnosis CD's through snail-mail.

I became interested in female domination in my 20s (I'm 34) now and found when a woman (such as a female vampire) took control of a male. I tried to link up with actual pro-dommes in my area but the ones that were within reason in terms of price only did fetishes that are still to this day hard limits. During one of my searches I ended up coming across Hypno-Dommes and finding my former Domme Isis the Enchantress

Previously heavy into real life SM, in the slightly black, blue and purple variant. At least when one assessed my skin color afterwards. At one point, drifted over to phone and clips, as both "cheaper", and less sideffects.

Hypnosis call came as a progression, searching for something which felt real, even without direct physical interaction. And here i am.
